Vintage Boujad Moroccan Carpet
This beautiful Moroccan rug was handmade by women of the Berber tribes in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This is a vintage piece, a few decades old, and would have originally been created by a woman for use in her own home. The women who create these weavings use techniques developed and passed down through the ages. They have much freedom in their creative process to add symbols & colors as they like to their weavings. Each piece is a personal expression full of creativity, containing symbols & colors with personal, tribal and familial significance to the creator. Each one is a unique hand crafted work of art!
The carpet is in beautiful condition and as it is vintage it may have some irregularities, which gives it a unique character. It will be washed prior to shipment so that its ready to use as soon as you receive it. We suggest placing a non-stick pad underneath it to preserve the weave and keep it from sliding.
